Drought and Desertification
It’s a sad sight watching those you love in pain, struggling to survive, starving, sickly and in complete misery; knowing there’s nothing you can do about it. Since 1990 over 10 million people in Kenya have suffered from this horrific torment due to the detrimental effects brought about by drought. Thousands being left in dire need of relief and child malnutrition becoming more and more prevalent.
Drought and desertification are mainly a result of deforestation, environmental degradation and improper land use. The Kenya Red Cross Society is addressing the situation through feeding programmes as well as long-term interventions towards climate adaptation.
Drought doesn’t have to destroy any more lives. We can put a stop to it together. Support this cause and help change the lives of millions in need.
